DescriptionA remarkable multiple-character illustration by Don Rosa featuring his story "The Crown of the Crusader Kings". This piece was drawn on the title page of the first numbered copy of the Finnish Don Rosa omnibus featuring the aforementioned story and published in 2001. The first four Finnish Don Rosa omnibuses were accompanied by these leatherbound runs of 100 copies; of these, the first 20 contained unique full-figure, colored drawings by Don. This publication was the last of these leatherbound runs.Seeing that these first four omnibuses were released every two years, it's interesting to observe the development of Don's drawing style between 1995 and 2001 in my book illustrations. In my eyes, Don's style gradually evolves from just a slightly looser or softer approach toward a more controlled or technical expression. All illustrations, however, stun me with the attention to detail and care for the characters that they impart. Like all great art, however, I really think you need to see the drawings live to get their full impact. *** Here is also a link to the Inducks page for the publication: https://inducks.org/issue.php?c=fi%2FDRB2001 Social/Sharing |

Thanks again! I do really appreciate it when books can be beautifully displayed on the shelf without crass dustjackets or colors. Kudos to whoever designed these books!
