"I think I'm allergic to any high school nostalgia right now."

Álvaro called these his favorite pages from the series, and it's not hard to see why. He used some fun and interesting DPS layouts in the series, but in terms of rendering, this is my favorite one from the series. The standout here is the top widescreen panel with (almost) the whole cast on a boat (sailing on the aforementioned lake). Everyone's sitting in silence, but each character is shown in a pose that conveys where they are mentally/emotionally at this point in the story. The dialogue resumes along the bottom with some scientific exposition, and I love the quizzical expression in the second to last panel, just to break up some of the tension on the page.

The mix and match of digital textures on the series and this page in particular reminds me how stellar this book was. Congrats on such a great example Kin!

Fabulous DPS from a fabulous series. Gorgeous art by Alvaro Martinez Bueno. I love this two-page spread with most of the cast on the boat at the lake. Beautifully drawn and lushly painted with ink washes. Fantastic pick-up!
