DescriptionMITSUHIRO ARITA SDCC 2024 SKETCH - ORIGINAL POKEMON CREATOR / ARTIST -Original Pencil on 7x8.25 thick gold leaf artboard by the "Stan Lee' of Pokemon! Original Pokemon artist and creator Mitsuhiro Arita. A rare skecth moment for Powers from Arita, who does not draw Pokemon or sign Pokemon items currently. Thanks to Vinny for the heads-up. 🍻 Mitsuhiro Arita (Japanese: 有田満弘), born January 12, 1970 in Fukuoka Prefecture, is a freelance illustrator who has been providing artwork for the Pokémon Trading Card Game since its inception. Arita has continued to produce illustrations since the very beginning of the TCG, and as a result, he is among the TCG's most prolific artists. Arita started doing art for the cards in their prototype stages, even before Pokémon Red and Green Versions had been released. At the time, the only reference material for Pokémon appearances was the original sprites. Not knowing if they would be a success, he did not know how long the job would last. He said of the experience, "I was honestly worried about finding another project before the end of my contract." He was invited to the project by Keiji Kinebuchi, and also designed the symbols for the first six Energy types. Arita has credited his work on the Base Set's Pikachu and Charizard for having a "big effect" on his career. Social/Sharing |

So great to get some form of art from such a big creator, this is a beautifully done piece. Congrats on this find.

An absolute legend! Can you imagine what an impact he has made on the world? So cool that Powers has a piece touched by the master.

💯. We have a start to finish video as he sketched. Was cool to watch him thought hover the pencil over the board, then dived in with no stop until finished. So fun!
