CAL Spring 2025 Pickup!!!

The Hall I Spotlight, hosted by Matt Sardo and Jamie Jones, the minds behind IC3, brought the indie heat with four awesome creators who were tasked with creating an original piece of art LIVE during the panel!

One of those creators was Wesley Griffith who drew a wonderful rendition of Hellboy! Wes was talking commissions so I reached out via his CAL booth during the panel. Within a couple of hours, he sent me a photo of my completed commission!!!

This Stingray would be a great design if he ever got his own animated show! It could work as either a traditional super hero narrative or an educational show that teaches everyone about the world's oceans! Wesley was even kind enough to send a long a copy of his creator owned comic, The Jump #1!

cool commission piece, I like the extra acquatic species done in the backgrounds in silhouette. and it does have a coloring book or animated illustration style feel to it!

Fantastic line work on the character and I love the aquatic life in the distance! When combined with the air bubbles it almost gives an outer space feel to it. Nice one Stingray!
