Description16”x20” (framed 24”x26”) Drawn in 1965-66; purchased in 2014. I absolutely love this piece. Advertised as signed illegibly, the signature is readable on both the shield and further to the right of the main figure. In addition, Raymond signed and dated the artwork in the bottom margin, which apparently they never checked. I found a Galerie De Tours advertisement on page 11 in the November 21, 1967, issue of the Carmel Valley Outlook showing a photo of the final painting and the title. Easily the best and most comprehensive Whyte drawing I’ve ever seen.Social/Sharing |
