DescriptionI’ve been wanting a page from Rampaging Hulk for ages. I’m so glad I got this one! It’s got the amazing art of Sal Buscema and is beautifully embellished with ink and gray wash by Rudy Mesina.Sal Buscema and Rudy Mesina Rampaging Hulk #9 Story Page 13 Original Art (Marvel, 1978). The Hulk faces off against the Krylorians, and guess what? One of them turns into the Hulk! It’s like a Green Goliath showdown, with the original Avengers Ant-Man, Thor, and Iron Man making a surprise appearance in the last panel. Social/Sharing |

Thanks, Earl! I agree; it has everything I was looking for in an RH page... several panels of the Hulk and a shot of the original Avengers.

Great magazine era greytones! A Hulk vs alien transformation to Hulk page is something that would grip the wider magazine audience. The Avengers appearing is rare for these books.

This is a fine Rampaging Hulk page. There was something about how the creators approached the character in the black-and-white magazine that I found fascinating. Also, setting the stories in the early days of Marvel history somehow made them more accessible and interesting to me than the regular monthly comic. The issue with the original Avengers was particularly memorable. Cheers!

Thanks, T. The page looks even more amazing in person. It has very light production notes that I find interesting.

Just a raw-ness that grips the story, moreso that the IH! I like the Alcala inking on I believe the earlier storyline too!

I love Alcala's inks on this story. He took Sal's pencils to another level.
