DescriptionLove splash pages like this where Spidey is swinging high over a detailed New York City background. You can just sense the joy that Peter Parker would feel each time he took to the sky like that. Mark Bagley has done his usual stunning job of penciling, but Drew Hennessy's inks bring a lot of richness to the piece as well. Social/Sharing |

Great splash and gorgeously inked. That does it for me on this piece. That last panel reminds me of Frank Miller.

It's an absolute knockout. I'm new to this title but it's been a lot of fun to get into and the art is killer.

Bagley is very good, but Hennessy is monstrously great inker. Details in this splash are so amazing! Fine pick!

GORRRRRRRRRRRGEOUS inks here, Paul. Everything may be airborne here, but Hennessy sticks the landing with that NYC background. And something about Spidey's face being half in shadow in that first panel REALLY makes me think that that's how Ditko would have drawn it (or at least reminds me of his "split mask" drawings). I feel so strongly about that that I have to say that even among all your other brilliant (and arguably "flashier") Ultimate Spidey treasures, this, I do believe, is my very favorite. Incredible piece, which feels like "so much more" (if you know what I mean). Sincere congrats, Paul - wow!

God this is so damn good. Not only is it high flying Spidey in the city, but the splashy image is of him "upside down" angle wise while doing it, I especially love that approach.

This is one of my personal all-time USM faves. I get a lot of inquiries each year, people asking if I will sell, and I just can't part with it.
