DescriptionWeek 15 of my Spidey postings features two works by the artistic team of Steve McNiven & Dexter Vines.This is a wonderful cover featuring one of my favorite Spidey villains, MYSTERIO, as well as the lovely Felicia Hardy, Spidey's furiously feline femme fatale, otherwise known as BLACK CAT! When I saw this one, I had to make a grab for it. I love the Ultimate version of Mysterio, as well as the swirly smoke that whirls about all three battling characters. And it certainly doesn't hurt that Black Cat is drawn so meowingly sexy here. (Meowingly ... is that a word? Spell check seems to think it isn't ...) Social/Sharing |

The different interpretations of each character is a testament to McNiven's talent and creativity. Vines did an outstanding job on this work and really highlighted the different movements. It's incredible, really, to see a cover that has such a unique perspective and layout. It gives me the impression that the focal character could be any one of the three-very very cool. I haven't seen this characteristic in many covers. Congrats on such a extraordinary cover. This duo is awesome!!

I remember this cover distinctly. A great BC shot, but I'm most impressed with the intricacy of Ult Spidey's webbing. Very nice piece. Congrats!

Terrific, action-packed composition by McNiven and superb inks by Dexter Vines. Everything you could ask for in a Spidey cover!

McNiven KILLS IT with his Spidey suit. Mysterio looks great. Black Cat is meow worthy for sure. So nice, and another rare inked cover from the run - too cool!
