DescriptionTonight I am posting two Ultimate Spider-Man covers by the great Mark Bagley. The Ultimate Spider-Man title had its very own clone saga! And in true Ultimate fashion, the Marvel creators played around with the original story by making the Ultimate Scorpion character an actual clone of Peter Parker. TRIVIA: In this issue, the Scorpion continues to repeat "Who are you, masked mystery man??!! Unveil yourself to the crowd!!" which is what the referee said when Spider-man was a wrestler, months before. Social/Sharing |

Great addition to your epic collection! I remember this arc well- who would have thought Ultimate Scorpion would be another Peter clone? Love how Bendis played with our expectations in USM. Thanks for sharing!

Awesome Bagley USM cover! I don't think I've ever seen Ultimate Scorpion before. He's got a really cool old school kind of look! Congrats man!

Indeed, Bendis (and Bags) did do an awesome work on that series, fully turning our expectations and certitudes upside down. This a beautiful cover for your great collection, Paul!! When will you ever stop and leave some crumbs to us other poor collectors. ;-)

Nice! I liked this rendition of the Scorpion - was a nice twist, him being a clone, and the design tweaks worked well, too. Here, really like the pose, and that he's clearly got the drop on Spidey! Another Bags gem! Congrats!

It always saddens me they never did anything more with this scorpion character, when they killed off the ultimate spidey I thought Bendis should have brought him back in series. I know he may have been unhinged being a clone, but it would have been some interesting interaction whit him and other characters including his own development. Fury said to his science people to "get to work" and it always made me wonder what he meant by that.

The USM take on the Clone Saga was quite enjoyable for me, perhaps eclipsing previous ones, but I also have a lot of nostalgia for the 90s Clone Saga. Both have their great moments. Awesome cover!
