I've been chasing a Chris Bachalo page for a while now and the stars finally aligned themselves. Messiah Complex is one of the best X-Men stories. Definitely one of my all time favorite of all comics. There's so much happening in this story. It's just high pace action after action. It perfectly blended the classic X-Men and the newer generation. Obviously I have a soft spot for the classics (I'm getting older). Here's Mr. Sinister and his Marauders, some of the most classic villains, beating the hell out of some of the most iconic X-Men ever with Storm forced to order a full retreat. So cool Marvel got Chris Bachalo and Tim Townsend, one of the all time best classic X-Men, dare I say royalty, artists on this. Chris's legendary storytelling skills made him the right man for the job.

It's fantastic when you can get Bachalo doing slick black costumes. A perfect texture achieved in all of those highlights on Mister Sinister, Storm and Nightcrawler.

Mike Carey and Bachalo/Townsend were such a good combo on this book. Great page from Messiah Complex. The action, detail, and general chaos on this page are really nice.
