DescriptionAt this point in the recent ASM #27-30 story run, Spidey has completely connected with Doctor Octopus's discarded mechanical arms via a spinal interface, and man does he look cool perched on the rooftop with the moon and starry sky behind him. I love how he added webbing to the piece that fits around his waist, and of course that the arms are now red.A humorous side effect of this bonding is that Spidey starts to exhibit some of Doc Ock's haughty arrogance, like on this page where he says to JJJ "You dare question me, you DOLT?" and then immediately covers his mouth with his hands. Hahaha! This story just keeps getting better and better, and with Ed and Mark at the artistic helm, that's no surprise. Stay tuned for more posts! Social/Sharing |

Closest to an actual Spider he is going to get! Well, didn't he actually turn into a spider once?

Maybe not quite as cool as the six-armed Spidey from ASM #101, but still pretty dang cool. Another killer McGuinness page! What does he do? Just pick up the phone and call you whenever he gets art back from Marvel? Why don't you go back to buying Ramos Spidey art and leave some McGuinness stuff for the rest of us. LOL

A callback to the Superior Spider-Man days when Doc Ock was Spidey. This further pushes the notion that Doc Ock should be Spidey's arch-nemesis more than Green Goblin. Certainly with so much more groundwork done in recent years and Norman moving on to being a bigger player to the whole Marvel stage.

Thanks! I was hoping someone would mention that last panel. I really like it too. Funny how JJJ's tie is pointing up in every panel. I think it's meant to indicate how windy it is on the rooftop.

It's amazing how an artist with a career as long as McGuinness' keeps getting better and better.

Kinda like an inverse Superior Spider-Man?! ;) Dude you are on the proverbial ROLL with these Ed/Spidey/Ock pieces! May we be getting more?! I know which way I'd bet :) Spider-rific splashy shot up top here - so sweet. Congrats!

Wow man, you really have a knack for getting all the best pieces from any contemporary Spidey series that floats your boat! Such fabulous art by McGuinness. His style keeps evolving, but slowly and it always keeps that cartoony approach. Love this!
