DescriptionThe fifth and final issue of Deadly Neighborhood Spider-Man just came out yesterday, so I thought it would be appropriate to get this really cool DNSMDPS posted here on CAF.First of all, I sincerely recommend you check out Deadly Neighborhood Spider-Man. It is an original story to say the least, and Juan Ferreyra has created something truly unique in regards to the art in this book. I was a fan of his work on Spider-Man Noir, and this book is so different, and I mean that in the best way imaginable! Now onto the DPS. I'm amazed at how well Juan is able to convey distance and movement here. It's massive over the course of both pages. It was an absolute selling point for the piece, along with all of the original elements. The monsters remind me of something that Sienkiewicz could possibly draw, and are just wonderfully odd. His design for Spider-Man is entirely original right down to those hands, and the story specific spider emblem on his chest. Then you make it to the escape in that last panel, and it's an escape in more ways than one. Dream like and just gorgeous, dare I say something along the lines of Vess. I know I'm dropping big names here, but I can't help but appreciate what Juan Ferreyra has achieved with this story. “Unique New York!” Big thanks to Juan Ferreyra and Court at ComiConArt! I recommend heading over there and taking a look at the remaining pages. P.S. - Demon Bear AND Cocaine Bear may or may not make an appearance in the series. I wouldn't dare spoil, you will just have to read and find out. 17"x22" on toned paper Social/Sharing |

Wow awesome DPS Tyler! Juan is one of my favorite artists at Marvel right now because it feels like he's really doing something unique and fresh in a sea of all the super polished digital art these days. Great addition to your collection, congrats!

Thanks Chris, and he really is. I always appreciate artists who are willing to push the boundaries and create something that has its own feel.

An electric chase sequence! Changing camera angles with the layout is very fun to follow along as Spidey finds an escape portal!

Yeah, man, loved some of these pages as they were released and this one's up there! I'm sure it's that much better in person, with those pops of color. I'll get me one :) Congrats!

Man that looks rad! I want to read it now. Looks like a real fun take, and the art is super interesting. Like horror graffiti art.
