Description

This lighthearted series spun off from Bill Willingham's more dramatic Fables epic. It follows Jack, the single hero behind all the characters named either "Jack" or "John" in public domain stories. The final five part story began in this issue; each part was titled after an element of the story: in this case, "Hot Librarians."

At the moment, Jack is on the planet Mars battling aliens as John Carter. Meanwhile, back on earth, his frenemies the Page Sisters are looking for books containing altered versions of stories, e.g. "The Four Little Pigs."

On this page, the three sisters (the aforementioned "hot librarians") confront another gang of librarians, whose leader is less helpful than they hoped. He's dispatched just in time to feed the baby. I would think gunfire would make the baby scream, but not here.

The establishing shots with the shelves of books are awesome. I'd imagine a lot of collected Artist Editions and even a small book section. They kind of establish these page sisters aren't messing around either.
