This action-comedy series spun off of Bill Illingham’s more dramatic Fables series. Its conceit is that a single man named Jack is the protagonist of a wide range of fantasy stories, from Jack the Giant-Killer to Jack Frost. Not Jack the Ripper, thankfully. He gets up to all sorts of hijinks in the “real world,” many of which involve a trio of librarian sisters tasked with keeping unruly Fables in line and under society’s radar. The series ran for fifty issues under writers Willingham and Sturges.
