Description

Bill Willingham's "Fables" series imagined fairy tale characters living incognito in an American city. But what about non-human characters like the Three Little Pigs? They are sequestered on a rural setting, The Farm, under the guard of a team of Librarians. In this story, Jack of Fables finds himself imprisoned there as well, and he's planning a jailbreak. On this page, after a secret meeting in the garage, he explains to Mother Goose and Humpty Dumpty why they can't come, being very conspicuous in the mundane world.

This page underwent a little surgery prior to publication. A small opening panel now gives a close-up on Jack, necessitating the first panel on the page to have its right side trimmed, as seen in the "additional images" section.

A gathering of fairy tale all stars!  Akins and Pepoy bring a light touch with the thin lines as a means to make all of them look equal even though some of their backstories might be more grimm than others.  Of course those two can be out in public, Mother Goose has a old duck face that belongs in the senate and Humpty just got expelled from the house.
