Fables #32 (2005) patch panels from pages 5-6

These three panels were used to replace art originally found on pages 5-6 of this issue, which was entitled "The Dark, Killing Winter." At this point and the story, Beauty and the Beast are having a rough adjustment to their new roles respectively as the sheriff and mayor of Fabletown. Turns out being in charge is not as much fun as they hoped. Imagine that!

The two top panels are part of a conversation between Beast and Frau Totenkinder (German for "dead children" since she is the witch who tried to eat Hansel and Gretel). The bottom panel shows Beauty drowning in paperwork at the mayoral desk. Even Fables cannot escape the mundane aspects of political life.
