From Classics Illustrated #4 released February 1990. Saw it when it first came out, and it's been a huge influence on me ever since.

This is a photo of the original art, not a scan. Also shown with the overlay and as published.

The Sienkiewicz painted pieces look better photographed in natural light. It displays well because the paints are deep and rich and you can notice more layers from this page where he already uses it as a character examination.

WOW now that is a keeper. What a spectacular page. Love Bill's art from this period. Great colors and such a cool layout with that fish stamp. Fantastic pick up.

Just insanely talented and on another level creatively. I don't think he's ever produced any sort of work that doesn't demand to be studied. Just tell me where I can catch the bus to your incredible Sienkiewicz museum. Will certainly be worth the price of admission.
