Description

6�x11� (frame 11�x16�) Done in the early 70s, I bought it in 2016. Cover illustration for the paperback book Cherry Delight #1: The Italian Connection by Glen Chase � Leisure Books, 1972. I had checked with a number of artists' estates without success identifying who painted this. Recently, Vince Natale asked if I had checked with Ron Lesser, being that his early work often looked like McGinnis and was unsigned. Turns out, he was correct, and the book cover art was published on page 107 of The Art of Ron Lesser Vol. 1: Deadly Dames and Sexy Sirens, Subtropics Productions, 2023.

The style reminds me of Robert McGinnis, but I'm sure you've already ruled him out. No credits about the cover artist inside the book? Anyway, a great-looking piece!

Thank you. Correct. Nothing in the book and the McGinnis family said it was not his. Frustrating.
