Description

Xibalba. The Place of Fear. Mayan mythology lends itself to horror. It's impossible to take a picture of this that conveys the looming presence of it in person. I have it up on the wall and some people love it but I've also seen people spot it and literally take a startled step backwards - then they get up close and try to figure out how it was drawn. It's both endlessly fascinating to look at and creepy as @#$/&! The best page in the book I think. I first saw it flipping through the issue at the comic shop and it stopped my eyes. It still stops my eyes. Just a startling image in a book that has quite a few.
