Description

For men of ...ahem... of a certain age Bob Larkin was one of those mystical artists who hovered over our heads. Like Frazetta, Boris, and a couple others, he did fantasy, magazine, and paperback covers... but never really did the comics I read.

For me he is a giant of fantasy art.

I'm also a real big Doc Savage fan, so it is a real kick to add this piece to my collection. Featuring Doc, his cousin Pat, and a Werewolf. But not just any Werewolf... Larkin painted the classic Lon Chaney Werewolf!!!! (And I'm a HUGE Universal Monsters fan!)

So this one clicks on all levels for me. It is Gouache on an 13x18 illustration board.

This is the painted, published cover to the Summer 2017 Edition of the fine publication "The Bronze Gazette" (#79) I recommend this on-going magazine very highly to all Doc fans. Each issue is full of good stuff!
