Description

Eight works made up the Franklin Mint's 'Forest Year' group, so I have separated them into two entries on CAF. Each work consists of an 8 inch circle. Art like this often ended up on decorative dinner plates issued by the Franklin Mint, but I cannot find evidence that this art was released in that form.

Schoenherr did all sorts of art, including numerous illustrations for the original publication of Frank Herbert's 'Dune' for which he won a Hugo Award. He illustrated Anne McCaffrey's 'Dragonriders of Pern' books, and his August 1975 Analog magazine cover likely inspired the look of Chewbacca in Star Wars. He was posthumously inducted by the Science Fiction and Fantasy Hall of Fame in 2015.
