DescriptionThe next page in the story is a doozy. First, let’s take notice of that gorgeous central figure of Felicity that subtly overlaps all panels to guide the reader’s eye from left to right, top to bottom while using an interesting layout doing so.The first panel sees Felicity questioning the motive of her host. Her facial expression is spot on as you can tell she is wondering about what is in it for him. Her body language seems slightly more aggressive in that she leans forwards towards him while he is on the defensive, justifying himself. His face half covered in shadows in the second panel adds a sense of dangerosity to him and hanger to his dialogue. The absence of pupil in that left eye just adds to that monster-ish impression. Then we get to the third panel and the money shot of Felicity. She us beautiful, young and sexy but I absolutely love how Spiegle drew the outline of her arms and legs with tiny broken lines to imply that she is covered by fur. The carelessness of the cute kitten looking up at the insect contradicts the seriousness of her soul searching. Lastly, we cut to another scene where the local police is investigating a grisly murder possibly tying it with the spring cat mother we saw earlier in the story, furthering that plot element. That last panel is pretty cinematic a device as the police chief is quite foreboding in his statement while looking to the right (to entice the reader to turn that page). Social/Sharing |

I don't know the story, but I feel bad for the cat lady.

that central image of Felicity is so gorgeous and perfectly done sitting on top of the panel layout of every panel on the page so expertly that I can't take my eyes off of it!

She's the first thing you see and you can't really move off from staring at the dominating daydream image.

Another gorgeous example from the issue. I feel compelled to say how great Spiegle is nearly every time. Was not disappointed at all that McManus didn't do the interiors.
