Description

Smallish piece on thick board - 8x8 inches- used for cover of the Jane Brindle novel "No Heaven, no hell" published by Orion in 1996 (see additional images). The painting is very smooth and the character on the right of the picture has an almost 'digital' appearance. However, the piece is actually hand-painted in alkyd and oil on gesso primed board. According to the artist "the background was dabbed and glazed to get the textured look. The figures are hand painted with sable brushes."
