Description

SCALPED is one of the best comic book series I have ever read! Jason Aaron and RM Guera combined to punch me in the gut over and over, and made me beg for more. This great page features main characters Dashiell Bad Horse and his mom Gina, as well as Chief Lincoln Red Crow. RM's mastery of body language shows the anger coursing through Bad Horse as he confronts Red Crow, then ignores his mother on the street. Thanks to Simon at gotsuperpowers.com for helping me acquire this modern masterwork!

You can put in your own dialogue in there with how well R. M. Guéra tells the story. He's Serbian and it's a wonder how he can convey so much of the body language of people that are foreign to him and even more foreign to the comics audience uncovering this seedy underbelly of crime and drama fiction.

Beautiful page, Doc. Great storytelling and I love the style and details that drip from the page; the people in the background of panel 2, the gent at the far left edge of panel 3, the folds of Bad Horse's bandages in panel 5, the killer POV in panel 7... and I love the clothing folds of Bad Horse's uniform throughout (especially panel 4). Really amazing work, Doc! I need to revisit the series - I have a bunch of the singles but never finished reading them, and I have no idea why. Sounds like I need to rectify that! Great pick up! Congrats!

Jason, I recommend SCALPED as long as you make sure to take breaks after every 10 issues and participate in self-care!
