DescriptionI must confess that I had hitherto not known about this special one-shot issue and still less about this fantastic pin-up which followed the story itself. It is simply stunning and is by an artist which I was also hitherto not that familiar with - Mike Bair. I do not believe that he has done very much work lately but this pin-up is truly stunning. Many thanks to Rubén for parting with this artwork. As he knows, it has gone to a good home. Social/Sharing |

Yes, yes, the Last Days of the Justicve Society of America #1 was a fun story, and yes, Mike Bair is a terrific artist who sadly hasn't been working in comics for quite some time now, and yes, Rubén knows that this piece has gone to a very good home. Yes, a gorgeous JSA piece now owned by a great collector and even better man. You're welcome.

I don't know what impresses me more--how stunning this piece is, or that you used the word "hitherto" in your description. What a great word! It conjures up images of the days of yore, which seems appropriate for these grand Golden Age characters. Love the inky starry background too. Congrats!!

Many thanks, Paul! You are spot on - it is in such an unusual (yet stunningly appropriate) style.

The one shot was to tie up loose strings for this Golden Age DC team after Crisis on Infinite Earths. It does so with one of their grandest adventures and just like this pin up, it showed the best of the JSA.

Thanks so much, Marcus! Although it was a little before my time, I have always been fascinated with the JSA, and soon got up to speed when DC begain having the JLA/JSA crossovers.

Great pickup. Did Ruben make you pay in play money or gallons of maple syrup?
