Description

An expressive sketch by the great Alex Maleev, reminiscent of the gritty style he made famous on his Daredevil run years ago. The line variation is effective in capturing interest, especially the textures in shadow. Great use of negative space as is evident in all his work.

Picked up at Lake Como 2023 from the man himself. Thanks Alex!

The control of the dry brush raking the shadows onto DD's face and across the back is very cool! When he worked digitally on Daredevil, he would often have this kind of look of desperation ready to swing for the fences.

The dry brush rake is underatted -- getting the job done at 5x speed of a single dry brush line! Putting everyone out of work, dammit.
