DescriptionTokyo Ghost! I finally managed to nab a page from one of my all-time favorite series. Whenever any non-comic fan asks me to recommend a book to start with, TG is my choice. It's a sci-fi masterpiece that maestros Remender and Murphy conjured, filled with romance, extreme violence, satire, dystopian tech, samurai, nature, motorcycles and dongs. That's right, dongs. Equal opportunity nudity, very progressive. So what's not to like? Nothing, it's all great. Should be taught in schools. In this particular page we see beastly constable Led/Teddy and nimble Debbie chasing a samurai along sturdy vines. I drool at the use of macro and micro in this page. Sean Murphy zooms us in on Teddy hanging on to a brave little root, then zooms out to the samurai ZZZZZZZing away in gorgeous panel 2. Then a brilliant reuse of the layout of panel 1 to show Debbie trodding on Teddy in hot pursuit, followed by 2 same size small panels, yet one used to show her jump and the other to zoom in on her crucial vine grab. The last panel is my favorite, using vine diagonals established prior to continue the chase, but not without the coolest samurai landing ever depicted. Sean Murphy! Round of applause for this guy. A thrill a second with how fast paced this chase is going! SGM uses the legs very well as they generate the momentum of the story. They even stretch across the page like in panel 3 since we've gotten accustomed to the widescreen layout.

Love Tokyo Ghost (the one SGM series I really wish I had a piece from), and this is a stellar page. A great action sequence with some well-placed sound effect text to heighten (and deflate) the tension of the scene. Congrats!

Great action and design in this page! Love the poses, expressions, and aggressive cropping of the images in each panel. SGM's storytelling is amazing

WOW!!!!! One of my favorite pages from one of my favorite books. Sean recently mentioned TG as having a cult following... Everything in your description explains why the book keeps selling as a trade and why the art is hard to shake from collectors hands. Congratulations!

We ARE that cult Steve! Should we make T-Shirts? Debbie Decay bootie shorts?
