DescriptionGrowing up a 90s kid there was a Marvel moment in time where the Kubert bros were batting 1000. Adam was on Wolverine and Andy on X-Men. If you were me, you used up your yearly combined XMas + birthday present for one thing only: direct to your house monthly Marvel subscriptions. That meant that twice a month an X-book was waiting in your mailbox after school, each drawn by two brothers who's stellar output shaped the genre for years to come. No tracking numbers here, just actual surprise. There is no adult equivalent to a child obsessively waiting in suspense followed by their borderline unstable joy when the object of their desire appears without warning. 2X Kuberts 2X a month! What a time. This page hits that nostalgia hard for me, which is rare in my collecting priorities. I'm very happy to own it. Wolverine being cool, chitchatting, leaning on a fence and...smoking! (childhood gasp! Such a rebel, but the healing factor makes it ok, Mom) Piotr showing that not all problems can be solved with steel. A great dialogue page that shows why Andy Kubert is a superstar storyteller. Complete with sharp 90s inks from Mark Pennington. Social/Sharing |

How cool is that! Wolvie smoking and a nice all around Andy Kubert X-Men page. The story about waiting for your books in the mail as a kid oozes nostalgia as well, thanks for sharing that and congrats on adding a piece that evokes it for you!

Really great with Andy Kubert taking charge of this title and making it his X-Men. These pages of the personalities of Wolverine and Colossus on display are more long lasting and have more impact as a standalone outside of context.

Lovely Kubert X-Men page (and from early in his run when art still had word balloons). Congrats on the (nostalgia-fueled) pickup!
