DescriptionNice scene of Johnny Frost (who many would argue is the main character of this story) as he explores the Joker's penthouse while waiting for the Clown Prince of Crime. Aquarium of piranhas, view of the city, cigarettes, whiskey, eight balls of cocaine, .... plenty of things to pass the time in style. The top two panels of this page are all Bermejo with the pencils, inks, and his unique ink wash style. There are multiple pages from this story where Bermejo chose to complete certain panels on his own (see my page 84 as well). The rest of the page is beautifully inked by Mick Gray who did a pristine job of inking over Bermejo's pencils. Beautiful pairing of artistic styles and techniques on this page. Social/Sharing |

No, but you may find Dennis the Sea Bass.

The layout is awesome. Three widescreen panels with the vertical breal in the first two only to slow the pacing down. The page is showing all the usual decor crime boss' all have. I would guess Bermejo did all the wash himself in the first panel and told Gray to step aside there.

You are correct Marcus. The top 2 panels are 100% Bermejo. Showing off his inking skills and ink wash technique. I just added a description to my listing as well.
Also, thanks for your analysis of the broken panels and the pacing. Some sublime storytelling on this slow and "quiet" page. Makes me want to slow down and stay in the penthouse for a while with Johnny before the Joker comes back. Azzarello and Bermejo put a lot of thought into every panel of this GN which is why the storytelling is so strong. Everything visually serves a purpose.

I absolutely love that panel through the fish tank!

The page we discussed, sweet pickup! Can't go wrong with Bermejo.

Once again I ignored your input and went with my gut. 😂 But yeah, you can't go wrong with any Bermejo Joker page!

Best bang for the buck of the pgs that came up recently. Love how the first panel mirrors the Joker smoking on the bottom of the previous page. Wish my city apartment was a nice as Jokers, jeeze!

Did that you got the 2 differnent looks on this page, with the grey tones up top vs the B&W only at the bottom. Definitely makes for a nice visual contrast, I'm sure more so in person. Congrats!
