DescriptionSephiroth & Jenova from Final Fantasy VIIArt by Rachta Lin Sephiroth is the main villain character from the Final Fantasy VII series of videogames by Square Enix. The original Final Fantasy VII (Playstation 1) game was hugely influential on me and got me into playing JRPG games in general. More recently I've also enjoyed diving into the FFVII Remake and FFVII Rebirth games on Playstation 4 and Playstation 5. I have also been collecting art from the Singapore-based Manga artist Rachta Lin for more than 5 years now. She has come a long way since I first came across her work, doing a lot more published covers and projects these days for major publishers! 90% of the time Rachta is illustrating female characters with her distinct manga-influenced style, so it's pretty cool to see her tackle a male villain character such as Sephiroth here, but she also works in a female figure into the illustration in Jenova, who is an extraterrestrial entity closely associated with Sephiroth as an antagonist within the FF7 lore. Glad to finally get a nice high rez scan of this piece, the color work is nice and no FF7 collection would be complete (not that mine is) without touching upon the main villain of the story. This is a fantastic piece by Rachta Lin! Given how much she focuses on female characters, it’s really interesting to see her take on a male villain while still incorporating a female figure into the piece. Her distinct manga-influenced style brings a lot of energy to the composition, as do the colors, making for a visually striking and dynamic illustration. Having followed and promoted her work for years, it must be great to see how far she’s come with all her published covers and major projects. A really great looking addition to your collection!

Striking color work. I'm curious which media she uses. Regardless, very compelling depiction that could easily be a loading screen for the game.

Outstanding Final Fantasy VII illustration by Racha Lin! What a beautiful piece! Great poses of Sephiroth & Jenova! I love the long, wicked sword that Sephiroth is holding! And I love the way Racha has rendered his wings and hair, both drawn with long, swooping shapes. I love the shape of this drawing, it's kind of almond-shaped, like a beautiful amulet. Cool drawing of Jenova as well, is that box over her head controlling her? (It's been a long time since I played Final Fantasy VII, so I don't remember the details.) Great color on this illustration as well. Fabulous pick-up, congrats!

Ooooooh another FF7 piece from Rachta! I could get used to this Kavi! Gorgeous color and composition, and not to mention character detail. Beautiful!
