DescriptionCABLE #1 pg 34 - 1st Appearances for Dawnsilk, Hope and Tetherblood (Earth 4935, Clan Chosen) - Cable marks his return and saves Dawnsilk.Wow!! Another epic page from 1st issue! Wasn’t thinking I would even attempt to get a Cable #1 page, but got a great tip and it was pretty easy as Art Thibert still has some pages available at a very reasonable cost. Cable, for me, was a title I didn’t follow too closely during the X era of series expansions in the 80’s and 90’s. It came out in May of 1993 and fell between the cracks for titles I wanted. But as years have passed, I definitely grew quite fond of the character and his many series that soon followed. This #1 issue gave some of the origin for Cable (grown up Cable, who first appeared in New Mutants March of 1990, so he had only been around in this form for 3 years when this book came out). We learn that in a prior battle he was faced with a choice to save his son Tyler Dayspring (later becomes Genesis), or to keep fighting. He keeps fighting and looses his son. This page features another battle years later, where he is put in same position, this time Dawnsilk’s life is being threatened in the same way Tyler’s was, but Cable saves her. Thibert’s action art with Milgrom’s inks pair to make some really beautiful art. I’ve been a fan of Art Thibert’s work, especially his inking, for quite some time as his name appears all over so many X titles. This book was definitely a proud series, as I heard from his wife Pamela (with whom I purchased from), and I am glad I was able to express my appreciation to them for this amazing vintage art and that it has found a good home with me. This is definitely one of the great pleasures of purchasing directly from the artist. The page is action packed, and full of some great quips from this cast of characters (thanks Nicieza) as Cable makes his return off page and shoots the hostile. Loving the quip from Tetherblood - “Stab my eyes” as Cable makes his return to their Clan Chosen fold after being gone for many years, Weapon X (Garrison Kane) states “Well, it’s about $#%!@ time”. Anything mutant issue 1 of this 90's era is super desirable! This is from Cable, a major title of the time period and should be considered a grail.

Awesome Cable #1 page!!! Art Thibert is so good, especially as an inker but also as a penciller here, and Pamela is great to deal with, super nice!! congrats.

Great addition. Art Thibert's initial run was classic. I enjoyed that telling of Cable's background and the 90's action. I really need to pick up a page myself. Congrats.

Congrats on getting a page from the first issue! So crazy that Thibert still has pages from it. Also crazy to see just how strongly the Scott Williams inking style influenced other inkers back then.
