Wow!  Now THAT'S a character I never thought I'd see Paul tackle.  But I sure am glad he did.  This is fantastic!  Love his take on Groot.  Almost makes me wish there was a Rocket companion piece.  (hint-hint)

I was astonished to see Smitty's take on Groot as well, Eric!  A Rocket Raccoon by Paul would be great...Thanks for the comment, as always!

Very cool how he makes the knot as the kneecap.  A lot more detailed of a character than he usually tackles and Smith makes it look very much his own.

The knot as kneecap was one of the first things I noticed as well, Marcus!  And you are absolutely right; this piece features a character who is much more detailed than the usual characters Smitty takes on.  Happily, Paul rose to the challenge.

Man, does Paul Smith do any commissions that aren't published quality? His take on Groot is excellent, and I love that action pose, as Paul does. So sweet. Congrats!

Brilliant take on Groot by Mr. Smith!  I had no idea how much I needed to see this until I saw it in your gallery, and now I can't think of anything else.  Fred Hembeck kneecap, FTW! :)

Beautiful, wonderful, fun take on the Ashen one (whose bark is tougher than his bite).  Congrats, A K!
