DescriptionI wanted to first thank everyone for the the great comments you left me on the Bagley 1st Spider-Boy appearance splash I posted on Thursday (Sept 21). Thank you thank you thank you!I don't normally do a double post for the same piece, but I'm just so incredibly psyched to add this page to my collection. :-) Plus, I got a couple humorous tongue-and-cheek comments referring to a crackpot claim that the interior pages from Spider-Boy issue #7 were not actually sold on Nick Barrucci's show on May 12 of this year -- that they were "fake sales." It was a ridiculous claim, I mean, I myself bought six pages from the issue that day (I grabbed this splash a few days later) -- and I know other collectors (like my friend comicartboston) who bought other pages. But as we all know, if something is said enough times, no matter how crazy and untrue, it can somehow become a truth. And we just don't need that kind of thing in this hobby of ours. So in light of that, and to visually share the joy I felt the day I got the splash, I just wanted to include this pic of me and the splash, a pic that I had my mom take (in her lovely condo) the day I got the piece in the mail so I could send it to Nick Barrucci. Thanks again, Nick! You are awesome! I hope everyone tunes into Nick's show "The Original Art Experience" every Friday night on YouTube at 7pm ET! And you can also catch Ruben DaCollector's weekly Sunday show TONIGHT at 8pm ET on YouTube. Social/Sharing |

That page is definitely real. I'm not so sure about Christmas tree though. Looks like a piano to me.

Here in Casa de Pappas, it's Christmas all year round! And yes, that is a piano. The Christmas lights make all my piano practice sessions much more festive.

I love this photo of you holding the art! It's a GREAT photo!
There was a part of me happy when it didnt sell. On some levels my biggest fear was that this would sell to someone who would just flip it. Really glad that it went to you whom will love it, and with all of the other Spider-Boy you've picked up since then, it makes me even happier.

I think we need you to post a picture of the sales receipts to believe it was real. This picture could clearly be photoshopped.

This is a deep fake. I happen to know the real Paul P is locked in my basement until he gives up his Silvestri Wolverine pages.
He's actually made it quite cozy for him self this last month, and acclimating to a life underground really well!

Paul that page is as spectacular as your balcony view. Congrats! If Nick didn't take your money that is one hell of a deal!

Although I am aware of his existence, I've yet to read anything with Spider-Boy in it, but, regardless, Bagley/Hennessy nailed the all-important, first-appearance superhero pose.

Best photoshop job I've ever seen. Not only is the Spider Boy splash still in a vault in Nick's basement but, Paul Pappas doesn't even exist! Before it was CGI'd, this photo of "Paul" was actually a 96 year old Greek woman from Detroit! And if you believe any of this, I have the entire interior art to Fantastic Four # 1 to sell you! Paul is a friend for many years and I couldn't be happier for him acquiring this incredible grail!

I do exist, I do exist, I do I do I DO!! Plus I do believe in spooks, I do believe in spooks, I do I do I do I do I DO! Hahaha! Your comment gave me a chuckle. My "This is real, dangit!" post has prompted some very funny responses. But yeah, thank you for the comment -- you are a great friend too, though you do owe me some chocolate pudding, you do you do you do you DO!

How much are you asking for one of the interior pages to FF1? Lol.

Is that what you really look like? I imagined you looked like your avatar.

When I first wake up in the morning, I look quite a bit like my avatar. Especially after a night of drinking.
