This is the Original Art for the Cover of GLA: GREAT LAKES AVENGERS #1 (June 2005) by Paul Pelletier and Rick Magyar. This Cover is an "homage" to the world famous Cover of NEW AVENGERS #1 (Jan. 2005) and features the 1st COVER APPEARANCE of Squirrel Girl!

NOTE: The blue penciled writing on the top left side of the page says: ["Color Note-Please put in lightning bolts (like NEW AVENGERS #1) except a big one should be hitting Mr. Immortal!"].

UPDATE: How cool is this?!? The Aug. 31, 2009 issue of TIME Magazine ranked THE GREAT LAKES AVENGERS #5 (out of 10) on a list of the Top 10 ODDEST Marvel Characters! Here is the complete list:
