Description

Splash page to the last story in Rawhide Kid #32. Drawn by Jack Kirby. Inked and lettered by Dick Ayers.

Although Kirby continued drawing covers for quite some time, this was the last Rawhide Kid story he did for the series. Not the most action packed but certainly a nice close shot of the Kid.

Got this from Jack and Roz around 1992 or 93. Again thanks to Mike Thibodeaux.

I love the Kirby/ Ayers Western pages. Kirby's keen eye for camera angles shows up well on here. A truly great artist. Congrats!

Great example of the large art Kirby western! The layouts and the camera angle he takes are very cinematic as the story flows from the backgrounds to the front where the Kid is at.

Solid Kirby early 1960 work that, to me, mimics his incredible work on Challengers and applies it to the western genre. No squiggles. No slashes. No exaggeration. Just top notch illustration and staging that immediately pulls the reader in. Congrats on owning this superb early Kirby page !
