DescriptionAvengers #0 Pg. 32Story Page 4 of "The Night That Hell Froze Over" Art by Ryan Stegman Written by Gerry Duggan Avengers #0 was a prelude comic issue to the brand new Avengers run that started in 2015 (Volume 6). It featured 6 different storylines within it from different writer/artist teams. Story 5 of 6 was "The Night That Hell Froze Over" of which this art represents Story Page 4. Here Deadpool is kicking ass and putting on an aerial acrobatics display while on a mission to "liberate" a sample of Terrigen Mist for Captain America, in an effort to save Rogue's life, which he finds out about only a few pages later from Steve Rogers when he delivers the sample. All the while Wade is amusingly musing over the pros and cons of doing pro bono missions for Steve/Cap, as he would do (read text of his thoughts in the published image in Additional Images section). A few pages later Deadpool is shocked to receive an official Avengers ID card signed by Steve Rogers and President Obama, with full security clearance, as he joins the Avengers Unity Division which was first introduced by Gerry Dugan and Ryan Stegman in Uncanny Avengers (Vol. 3) issue #1, also released in 2015. Shoutout to Kahlil K Gearon on CAF for selling me the page awhile back, thanks dude! Putting this in my Deadpool sub-folder gallery instead of my Avengers sub-folder gallery since he's the only character featured on the page, but I hope CAF adds the ability to have 1 piece in multiple folders eventually. This is probably my number one most wanted feature to customize my own gallery better, without having to upload the same piece twice. Come on Bill and Kasra give it to me! ;-p Social/Sharing |

Well, it was a pretty cool looking page while Kahlil had it and it certainly hasn't gotten worse as it entered YOUR collection! Nice pickup, man! If by any chane the leg begins to heal enough that you can start ot be somewhat mobile by July, you should consider taking a drive up here and getting Stegman to sign it while he's a guest at our Comic Con!

Thanks Ruben! technically that dinosaur looking small image thing at the top right of the page (which within it says "Stegman") is one of his official signature types so the page is already signed by the artist but that said it would definately be fun to go to a convention in Canada- did you mean Toronto Fan Expo in August or some other one happening in July elsewhere?
Mobility wise I hope by July/August I'll be healed and rehabbed enough to be walking on my own strength on the actual leg, but right now I'm able to stand up and do some minimal walking around the house (in a fracture boot/brace setup, not actual weight on the bare leg yet)...and play arcade games like The Punisher ;-p while standing if you missed my post on IG about my progress so far that I shared there from a few days ago here it was :) Punisher Arcade

Oh, that's true. I guess I just figured that when he signed at cons for fans, he just signed the way he'd sign a check, which I may be wrong but I've always asssumed would NOT be in the shape of a dinosaur! But no, I was actually talking about Montreal in July!
Either way, it's great to hear you're finally making some good progress. I DID in fact somehow mis your IG post, so thanks for linking to it. Keep it up, man, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. It's still a long tunnel, but the light's there and it's beckoning for you to go to it!

I almost forgot about this one, man! You're right - been a minute. Great looking page top to bottom - got some nice storytelling up top and a panel breaking splashy shot at the bottom! Also love that background in said splashy shot...you KNOW that took some time. Looks good in your collection, man, congrats!

haha sorry it took me so long to upload to CAF bro, to be honest I almost forgot about it myself and thought I already did, but I hadn't. And I'm not even sure if it's actually Page #32 or not since the comic had all those stories connected in the issue and maybe there were ad pages etc. etc. noticed you had it as Page 36 in the comic archive credit. Story page 4 for that specific story is as specific as I have - I tracked down a floppy comic for the issue awhile back too but it's stuck in a shortbox somewhere that I can't get to right now to check it lol. but yeah lots of stuff to dig in this page - thanks again man!

Splendid Avengers cover features Deadpool doing "pro bono" work for Steve Rogers/Captain America. Great opening panel with Deadpool shooting two hoods on a rooftop, then swinging down off the roof of the building with a rope ladder. Great action scenes in all panels. Gorgeous layouts from Ryan Stegman and inks from Gerry Dugan. Love that final panel that crosses over from the third panel into the fourth with Deadpool holding on to a rope ladder dozens of stories above NYC. Fantastic pick-up, congrats!

Thank you and yea that final panel is fantastic! Gerry did the writing though - Ryan both penciled and inked this interior story which is now more rare since he primarily works with inking partners these days - this was 7-8 years ago though so an earlier phase of his career I suppose

Page after page
He posts from Khalil
The man with Deadpool art win is healing perfectly still
But this story wants to show him
They can see that he's just Deadpool
And he never been Avenger
But Deadpool for the thrill sees the guns going down
With the knives in his head shoots and twirl spending 'rounds
Well for no pay
Heads to the clouds
The man in a thousand pages thinking perfectly proud
But nobody ever hears him, or the sound he appears to make
The Avengers seems to notice
That Deadpool doesn't kill sees Stegman and Duggan
And the lines are instead whirly bird above ground
