Description

A hand painted Frank Haseler cover artwork produced in 1971 (or earlier) for the Mills and Boon novel 'Storm's End'. It's paint on thick artboard. It has an oil-like appearance but maybe something else (gouache with varnish?). It measures approx 22 x 28.75 inches.

It has an impressionistic feel with blotches of colour everywhere and the two characters disappearing into what looks like a sofa. It appears that this painting may have been used up to four times in separate publications, as there are names of different places/dates of publication on the back. Two of these publications are shown here - the first being the Mills and Boon novel from 1971 and the second being a separate romance pulp (Woman's Weekly Library) from 1980.
