11x17 bristol board, inks on printed bluelines

Teenage Scott Summers starts to realize he's capable of making a difference, like a flash of light in the dark. He's not quite Cyclops yet but he's getting there.

Tom Reilly captures a blend of somber moodiness and newfound determination so well on this page. He gets a good range of emotion out of a character who generally can't express a lot of emotion due to his face being covered and, well, this is also a character who would prefer fighting a Sentinel over having to ever talk about his feelings. If any of that was a challenge for Reilly, I'd never know it because this page is fantastic.

Also the �it feels like coming up out of the dark� line in the last panel always gets me a little whenever I read it. This comic book rules and you should go read it if you haven't already!
