DescriptionI'm very excited to share what is my favorite and most meaningful piece in my collection.When I first laid eyes on Erik Gist's Original Cover art for issue #5, I was in awe of the incredible detail, how powerful the piece felt, and how it commanded attention. Measuring a lofty 24" x 16", Gist used Oil on hard panel to create this masterpiece. The painted piece was used as the Original Variant Cover Art for Marvel's Star Wars: The Mandalorian, Issue #5 (1:50 Gist Variant), released in Jan, 2023. While I am a huge fan of the Star Wars franchise, the space Western series, "The Mandalorian" is my all-time favorite, with characters Din Djarin and Grogu front and center. I am eternally grateful to Ed for forging a deal with me on this. I honestly didn't think I'd end up having this piece in my collection and am ecstatic to have the piece on my wall. Social/Sharing |

It looks like a photo taken in the Volume with the photorealistic reflections off the beskar armor.

Wow if you didn't have the original art posted I would have thought that issue was a photo cover. Stunning painting!

I truly thought the exact same thing when I first saw this piece with the original owner and also on Erik's website. I was floored and wasn't able to process it until I saw a picture of the framed piece up close.
