DescriptionStar Wars: The Mandalorian # 1 Variant Cover, by Alex Maleev (Sept 2022).Measuring 16" x 20", Maleev used Oil on Canson Board to create this stunning piece featuring two of my favorite characters in the franchise - Din Djarin & Grogu. This painted piece was featured as the exclusive Frankies Comics and Golden Apple Comics Cover & their exclusive Virgin Cover. As always Maleev boils it down to the essence and shows the simple image that represents everything about the Mandalorian. Razor crest, the desert world, the hunter, and the baby are all there and everything else you can add to it is Star Wars lore.

I always admire the textures and especially tones that Maleev often employs to depict his subjects depth, quiet wisedom and still powerfully intimidating.

Maleev does it all, pencil & ink, watercolors, acrylics and now oils. There's a visceral quality to this beautifully painted cover. Congrats!
