DescriptionComparing this layout to the published page at the right, (inked by Frank Chiaramonte, colored by Petra Goldberg and lettered by John Costanza), I'm struck by just how much is right there in the initial rough.I can still remember me and my bros reading this comic when it first came out, so this has a strong nostalgic appeal for me. There's so much power in those roughs. The inks are really good, but they can't capture the emotional energy that Adams captured in the lower left panel. Wow!

Jesus, it's only the best page in the book. This scene has never left my mind.

Terrific rough. This story was shaping up to be an Adams masterpiece before he bailed midway. Too bad he didn't ink the pages that were completed as well.

An amazing piece - Adams at the height of his powers. Such fluid storytelling!
