Description

I'm a big fan of Jim Aparo! He is one of the unsung heroes of batman artists who defined the character for several years! This page is one of the last issues he did on Batman. It took place during the cataclysm story line that set-up no mans land! I love the dynamic between Bat's and Gordon here. The message is clear, no matter how bad things get, this dynamic duo will persevere! This reminds me of the roof top exchange between at the end of Batman begins!

The cool thing about this page, is the ink work by legendary artist Sal Buscema! You can certainly see his influence on Aparo's pencils. It's a really cool piece, featuring 2 legends of the genre.

Very desirable from No Man's Land and the fact that it has two legends. DC wanted Aparo to go out on a high note and on a story that would get lots of printings in collected form. You can see the brows on Gordon as an Aparo touch!

I love every era of Aparo's art! He is well-complimented by Sal's inks here--very moody and atmospheric.
