Description

While walking up and down the aisles at this past NYCC, I came across Alberto drawing away in the Comic Sketch Art area. I wasn’t familiar with him or his work, but he had an amazing Weapon X piece that caught my eye. So, I took a quick pic of the piece with his banner behind him so I wouldn’t forget to look him up when I got home.

Fast forward a few months and I noticed on Instagram that he was accepting commissions for the new year. Not one to look a gift horse in the mouth, I reached out to arrange one and offered him a choice between my two themes: a Captain America scene or Mando and Grogu.

He took the night to think it over and decided on Mando. A scant month passed and he messaged me it was almost done, and a few days later I had it in my hands.

To say I’m pleased with the results would be a massive understatement. The dynamic composition, contrast of warm and cool colors, and breaking of the panel borders all combine to help this one pop off the page.

Thank you so much to Alberto for such a fine addition to my collection. If you’d be interested in working with him, his communication was phenomenal throughout and his prices are very reasonable in today’s market.

Does a great job of expressing the action and Mando's ferocity to protect the Child! The colors scheme works so well to subtly raise the level of action to white hot!
