Description

Arranged this one through Cadence Comic Art back in October. So, naturally, when the dung hit the fan earlier this month, I was left wondering what the situation was.

Fortunately, Tom cleared things up early on his Instagram. So, I knew the commissions were done and he’d be reaching out soon to figure out delivery.

What arrived is simply spectacular. The texture to the log is fantastic and makes a wonderful contrast to the simple shapes standing in for clouds and suns.

But my favorite part of this one is Grogu. While Mando stands taught and on guard in his role as protector, “the child” remains blissfully unaware of any impending danger while he uses the force to find himself a little snack. It’s another delightful contrast that elevates this piece to a higher level.

I’ve long enjoyed Tom’s work and this one highlights all the best reasons why.
