Description

Marcelo Matere was at the table right next to my buddy Nick Nix, who I go to SDCC with. So we had a lot of time to talk to him when I was hanging out at the table. I looked through his portfolios several times and finally on the last day I decided to pull the trigger and get something. I settled on Astro Train because I just thought he looked the coolest of what he had available.

The art is just pencils because they use digital coloring that doesn't need black line art, so he just pencils and turns them in to Hasbro for digitizing.

I have added some additional images of Astro Train in color from online sources and from the Hasbro website. It may have been used as box art too, but I haven't been able to confirm that yet and the artist doesn't know because he does so much art for Hasbro, he loses track once it is submitted.

Woah nice score boss. I'm not sure if it was used as package art for the toy since I couldn't come up with anything in terms of the toy having that in the box. None the less this thing is awesome. Curious did he have misty comic page art or was it mostly package art and legends car art?
