DescriptionWhen it comes to my Captain America commissions, nine times out of ten I leave it to the artist to choose any Cap scene they’d like from the MCU. The way I see it, giving them free reign to pick any moment that spoke to them (visually or emotionally) will result in a more inspired piece. However, having previously drawn seven Cap pieces for me, Scott has already put pen to paper on many of his favorites. So, when I commissioned this latest batch of four, I offered him a list of scenes to choose from in case inspiration was in short supply. This gem came from the list. Steve’s relationship with Peggy is one of my favorite things about The First Avenger… and all of the MCU for that matter. Between the great writing by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeeley, and the brilliant performances by Chris Evans and Hayley Atwell, their interactions sparked with crackling dialogue and genuine affection. (It also doesn’t hurt I have a HUGE crush on Hayley Atwell.) And speaking of sparks, they literally flew here as Peggy takes a shot at Steve after catching him lip locked with the colonel's secretary. I’ve always enjoyed this scene, and Scott brought it to brilliant life with his pacing and facial expressions. I’m particularly fond of Steve (and Howard’s) expressions in panels 5 & 6 as they’re caught completely off guard by Peggy’s actions. Every time I see Scott’s work, it’s a reminder of how less is more in the hands of a talented cartoonist. With just a few well shaped brow lines and circles for eyes, he’s able to elevate the thoughts and emotions of every character. Social/Sharing |

I'd have to say that this is more a Peggy Carter commission as it's one of her shining moments in the film. Somehow they made this scene flirty and romantic.

Cap and Peggy's relationship is at the heart of this movie.

Agreed about Peggy and Steve's relationship in the movie(s). As much as I love Avengers and The Winter Soldier, I'm forever upset that setting up the Avengers movie deprived us of a proper sequel set with more Peggy and Steve.
Oh yeah, and this is a great commission of a fun moment in the movie. Congrats!
