DescriptionBeen a fan of Maria Wolf since I stumbpled across her art on Inky Knuckles. I just hadn't gotten around to picking any of her work up yet. I think I found out she was at Heroes Con late on Day 1, so I made it a point to find her booth on day 2.I looked her booth number up and made my way that direction sometime after 12. I must have walked past her booth ten times and not noticed her since she literally did not have her name anywhere at all on her booth. I finally noticed a bunch of familiar lookin prints hanging from some racks behind a table. Sure enoughth, it was her. At first I thought there was a huge line for her table. She was in the process of sketching a cover while someoen was waiting on it. I saw her portfolios on the edge of the table with nobody paying any attention to them, so I nudged my way through the line and started leafing thorugh them. I then realized that Alex Ross was across the aisle, and that huge line was for him. So, I didn't cut anyone off....at least I don't think I did. At her booth anyway. There were lots of amazing pages in side that book. Alot I recognized from the website. Alot I saw hanging in print form behind her. And alot that she had copies of the puplished cover on the table. I noticed a few I didn't recognize from anywhere. When I asked, she explained that some where commissions she was working on, some were just random WIP's, and some were covers she finished that hadn't been published yet. That brings us to thie piece. She prefaced it by saying "It's a cover to Rob Liefelds last Deadpool". I tuned out after that. I did look a couple of others unpublished covers she had, but the words "Liefelds Last Deadpool" kept echoing in my head. Plus the multitude of big (and obscure) characters was pretty epic. So I made an offer and she accepted. I had to wait 5 more minutes or so for her to finish the blank cover she was sketching before she pulled the page out of the portfolio for me. I tossed her a HH Chalenge Coin and went on my way. Fortunately I only had to way about 10 days before I saw the cover solicited. It was tough to sit on. Social/Sharing |

The Hulk, frothing at the mouth like an absolute savage (or like YOU, when you saw this piece), is my favourite part of this piece! But your storytelling in the description is even better than this cover art. Keep it up!

"Liefeld's Last Deadpool" will echo in my mind forever because there's no way he'd stop drawing Deadpool.

for a second there I thought Wolvie was about to perform some "self-dentistry" on this cover lol. pretty gnarly lookign style, gritty edge to it, def unique. not the type of cover/piece I honestly expected to see in your gallery which makes it even cooler of a pick up. Can't imagine what agony you had to go through waiting 10 days to share something, must've been torture haha, meanwhile I'm sitting here looking at sharing stuff from 2018 still - patience grasshopper, patience! xoxox
