DescriptionMy series of Bronze Age Legion cards continues with none other than Dream Girl! As per usual, I commissioned this via Jeff's WhatNot stream, and as per usual, he did a fantastic job!It took him a while to nail down the pose, but I think the one he settled on is very fitting for Nura, here - somewhere between sultry and sly. I really like the overall colour palette of this card, with all the pale yellows and blues complementing each other. I didn't have a card with an aqua/teal background from Jeff yet, and I think it makes this card really stand out amongst all my other ones (as if Dream Girl would have it any other way). Later adaptations of her costume have it properly silver, but in the 70s and 80s it was always coloured light blue, and Jeff used a bunch of blues and some fun shading to give it that comic-accurate, almost pearlescent colour scheme. He did the same thing with her hair, which was coloured a very pale yellow in comics from the time, even though earlier and later version of Nura had pure white hair. Jeff used his whiteout pen and also left some of the card blank to give her her white highlights. Social/Sharing |

Beauty! digging the lighter blue and white highlights in this sultry + sly (slytry? sulsly? ha) version of Dream Girl that stays true to older source material. Nice one! Curious how you organize/store/display your sketch card collection with how many you have. Sleeves and Toploaders, or sleeves and binders? Or something else? I need a new solution of my own, so curious to hear how other collectors prefer to store/enjoy theirs.

Okay, "sulsy" is officially my new favourite word. I'm gonna use it every chance I get.
At the moment, I keep my sketch cards in their toploaders, and keep those inside a small plastic bin that I cover to keep direct light off of the stored cards. Not exactly all that refined, I know. Buuuuut, now that I'm graduated and gainfully employed, a big entry on my housekeeping list is to go onto Amazon and pick up these special sketch card binders they sell. They hold four cards per page, and the sleeves are big enough to fit the toploaders in so that the cards stay nice and safe. I'd recommend checking those out!
