Well, it's safe to say to that I will definitely be attending OAX next year. The entire weekend was a blast! It was so nice to see everyone as well as meet some new people, then you had all of the glorious art. Huge and sincere thanks to Kasra and Bill for absolutely busting their asses to make this a very memorable weekend!

Figured I better start with this banger from Jonathan Wayshak. I'm a huge fan of Sam Kieth and he did the Blood Hungry run major justice with this heavily textured commission on super heavy board! The word gritty comes to mind in illustration and feel, and I am not talking about the mascot.

There are definitely echoes of Sam Kieth in this piece, but he also paid tribute to another artist with the Wolverine design. That artist is Akira Yasuda (Akiman), who worked on many Capcom games such as the Street Fighter series, X-Men: Children of the Atom, and Marvel Super Heroes, among many others. I love that he incorporated his influence into this piece, and it really just makes it that more unique.

As these events go, I got to talk to Jonathan and he was a true pleasure to meet. It sincerely made getting this commission an even greater experience.

Huge thanks to WAY$HAK for this adamantium stunner! It has become an instant favorite.

I just found this artist for the first time at OAX. Great guy and his style pulls from all the artists/styles that I love. I bought a few published pieces from him and would love to get a commission down the road. Grats on an amazing commission!!!!

Congrats on scoring this stunner right out of the gate. I've known Jonathan for almost 15 years and I only got my first piece of super art from him two years ago. But I hope to be making up for that with my next few purchases. Again, congrats on this insanely gorgeous piece. Wow!

Wayshak straight KILLED this, man, whew. Great figure work, love the expressions, the gritty line work, and all those little touches, like the glint in Cyber's arms and Wolvie's claw. Outstanding. Congrats, man!
