Descriptionfigured i'd share this on Tim Sale's birthday. Dude was a helluva talent and his passing was a shock to me. I'm lucky to have gotten to have met him a few times and get a commission and a doodle but its this page that just blows me away everytime i look at it. The brick detail and the smile on DD's face at the end. Incredible piece from one of the most beautiful stories ever published. i bought this from his rep at the time and have had it tucked away since. i remember being upset it didn't come signed but luckily i was able to take it to Tim and get it signed in person.ignore the finger in the top right of the image -- i was holding it to get the lighting as good as possible. Very nice with an establishing shot of hunter and prey. The bricks and background details get all stripped away and focus is isolated to Daredevil in the last panel who can't see the details anyways.

ha! its a callback to a page early in the story where DD's neighborhood is all messed up. the story gets going and its about karen and foggy and the start of thier friendship all working together. this is at the end of the story (second to last page i think) where DD goes back and he's seeing (radaring?) back and its almost the same exact page as before but now its clean and improved and you can see foggy with a client. a happy ending.
man, i really loved this run. i have the single issues, the trade, then the new fancy trade they put out of it. but when you look at this page, you see each brick individually painted. its insane.

Ok cool! Finale page! Can't tell with that smile on him if it's one of getting ready to battle or one of satisfaction.

Wow.... that's a great page. I love the top panel and how Sale used lighting to set the tone.

Thank you SO much for posting this hidden gem! The whole thing is Tim Sale perfection, from the use of his preferred three panels to a page to the inkwash and his penchant for placing charaters in the corners of panels. Plus it's a dynamite callback to the opening of the series in issue 1.
Really appreciate seeing this on his birthday. I know many collectors like to keep their pieces tucked away, and I understand that. But now that my friend is gone, I hope others take your lead and share more of this man's brilliance with the world.
